Does Hulu’s new streaming series, The Land, focus on the Cleveland Browns?

Maybe?

Here’s everything we know about Hulu’s The Land streaming series.

What is The Land TV series about?

Nothing official has been announced, but some digging suggests that The Land, aka 17 Sundays, is This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman‘s upcoming Hulu series set in the world of pro football, starring Christopher Meloni and William H. Macy.

Meloni was spotted in Cleveland over the summer in Berea, attending a Browns' training camp session, according to News 5 Cleveland.

Meloni’s Instagram account confirms it, with snaps of Meloni alongside Miles Garrett and other Browns players. Meloni also visited the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.

On August 27, Deadline reported that “'The Land' … got the largest allocation (of California tax credits) … with nearly $43 million.”

Does The Land focus on the Cleveland Browns?

It’s speculative, but since the present title of the series is The Land, and Meloni was in town to get an introduction to the Browns organization, we can assume the Browns - or a fictional Cleveland NFL team - will feature somewhat prominently in the series.

However, no public source confirms the show is about the Cleveland Browns.

Who is making The Land pilot?

Dan Fogelman serves as executive producer and writer.

He’s best known as the creator and showrunner of the acclaimed NBC drama This Is Us, is also known for writing and producing hit films like Crazy, Stupid, Love, Tangled, and Cars, as well as the television series Galavant and Only Murders in the Building.

Hulu/20th Century is producing the pilot. Eenie Meanie was a Hulu/20th Century production, as well.

Where in Cleveland are they filming The Land pilot?

No information on this presently.

Speculatively, if the series is focused on the NFL, filming could take place at Cleveland Browns Stadium or the Browns training facility and offices in Berea.

When is The Land pilot filming in Cleveland?

The pilot is shooting in Cleveland on Nov. 15th, mid-afternoon through the middle of the night, according to Angela Boehm Casting.

The series will also shoot in Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, and Paris, France, according to ProductionList.com

Today is the 24th of November 2025 and they just started filming today. How do I know this? Because the school at the end of my street rented out the football stadium and the grass field to The Land/hulu/Disney to film The Land. They have been building this set for at least 2 months now. We have no idea what it’s about but we can read the names of the teams on the banners they use to block us from seeing anything. But we can hear people cheering today. So I think it might be about football and what they were building at the end of my street could be a football stadium for one of the teams. This is my best guesstimate.

A chat with Erik Kripke, creator of 'Supernatural' and 'The Boys'

Erik Kripke on the set of 'The Boys' Those that know Eric Kripke from when he was a boy growing up in the Toledo, Ohio, suburb of Sylvania often tell him they didn’t know that he was “secretly disturbed.” And even the filmmaker admits that his happy, idyllic life seems out of place for the guy that created the horror sensation, Supernatural . “I guess the only thing weird may have been how normal everything was,” Kripke says. Kripke’s Supernatural, which ran for 15 seasons on The CW, tells the tale of two monster-hunting brothers – Sam and Dean Winchester, played by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles respectively. Think of it as a sort of Route 66 with chainsaws, muscle cars and a boatload of demons. It's a bit of a 180 for a guy who started his career as a comedy writer. Dangerously obsessed Kripke says that since he was 8 or 9 years old, his focus was on becoming a filmmaker. “I never really wanted to do anything else. You could say I was ‘dange...

5 Horrific Questions with ‘Obstacle Corpse’s’ Hope Madden

The idea for Obstacle Corpse , Hope Madden’s directorial debut, came almost fully formed - and much of it had to do with death waivers. “A few years ago, I was set to run one of those Tough Mudder-style obstacle course races with my husband, George,” the Tiffin, Ohio, native explains. When foot surgery kept Madden from competing, she went along to support her husband. “The race handed out T-shirts that read ‘Remember, you signed a death waiver.’ Because you do, in fact, sign a death waiver,” Madden says, “and I saw how easy it would be to kill someone on these obstacles. “By the time we were home, I had the plot just about figured out.” That plot? A young woman, trying to prove herself to her father, accepts an invitation to run in an exclusive obstacle course race. To buoy her confidence, she enlists her best friend to run alongside her. Little do either know that one of the obstacles the race’s elite athletes must complete is the murder of a fellow racer. While steeped in horror, the...
